The International Special Events Society of New York (ISES) presented its coveted Big Apple Award to Bounce Music and Entertainment for “Best Entertainment/Program Concept” for “Hackensack University Medical Centers 2009 Gala” Event. The award was presented at the 9th Annual Big Apple Awards ceremonies attended by Special Event professionals, held June 29, 2010 at Manhattan’s magnificent Edison Ballroom. A select ISES committee panel made up of respected professionals in the New York Event Industry judged the honorees. Bounce President & CEO, Dean Vali, was presented with the Big Apple honor by Cheryl Brocco, Director of Catering of The Glazier Group and Matthew Saravay from Wizard Studios.
Bounce delivered a flawless, unique program for the Hackensack University Medical Center. The Event for 1000 guests took place aboard the Intrepid Air & Space Museum Aircraft Carrier docked on the Hudson River at 46th Street. Bounce chose to enhance the unique venue setting by recalling the sound and look of the Big Band Music of the World War II Era. A 17 piece Glen Miller style Big Band, dressed in formal white dinner jackets and sitting behind the period “Box” Music stands, filled the stage with the look of a Seigfield Follies extravaganza. A Sinatra style singer crooning hits like “The Way You Look Tonight” and “Come Fly with Me” fronted the band. Guests further enjoyed an authentic Andrew Sisters trio, ”The Bugle Girls,” who performed impeccable choreography and vocals to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” in their replica dress military costumes. A “Jersey Boys” Tribute performance capped off the show and had 1000 guests jumping to their feet with applause. As guests departed the ship, an after hours Disco Band had the dance floor “hustling” and “bumping” to the sounds of the 1970’s.
