The Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) Foundation hosted its annual black tie Recognition Gala at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, in New York City. HUMC offered its guests an opportunity to gather at the historic aircraft carrier USS Intrepid that served tours of duty spanning World War II through Vietnam. The Intrepid made seven trips around the globe and survived five kamikaze attacks, several bomb attacks, and one torpedo strike.
They dined on a sumptuous dinner with entertainment provided by Bounce Music & Entertainment, reminiscent of the 1940s, particularly the Andrew Sisters by “The Bugle Girls”, “The Big Band Bounce,” and a performance by “The Unexpected Boys,” who performed a “Jersey Boy’ style rendition. Over the course of the evening, guests also had the opportunity to view nearly two dozen aircraft from around the globe, completely restored to their historic glory. The evening concluded with dancing.
‘Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) and the New York Giants football team have literally “teamed up” to form The Touchdown Fund: Score for Kids, Cardiac and Cancer. This exclusive charitable partnership, a first of its kind for the New York Giants, will raise funds for the Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation. HUMC has been named the “Hometown Hospital of the New York Giants.”
